Intrusive Thoughts
three liminal hours
between routines
bring me home
my academic abode—
hilly mounds still
bore me, it’s become a chore
to invade the plains
my blank mind becomes interrupted—
what if i
drove off the road on accident
(of course)
—by the corrupted pot-holed road
ruining my blank slate, vegetative state
maybe these charming farms
aren’t so bad after all
“less is more” ruralcore
stay on the pavement
escape the cityscape,
the dizziness of busy-ness
and drive and sigh on the highway
knowing the small town
welcomes me home
